Our original reforestation center and Living Seed Bank site in Tambopata. The first trees were planted here in 2006. Now it’s home to over 400 tree species planted.
About the Center
Located on the banks of the Tambopata River, in the official buffer zone of the Tambopata National Reserve (learn more here)
157 hectares (391 acres) total area for the center, of which:
24 hectares (60 acres) reforested with diverse polyculture agroforestry systems, registered with Peru’s Forest Authority as forestry plantations
107 hectares (266 acres) of primary forest under conservation, certified by Peru’s Natural Protected Areas Authority as an officially recognized Private Conservation Area
